Week 1 – The Global Business World

Work towards understanding the global management scene and how business is conducted between people from various cultural backgrounds. Develop the intellectual and behavioral skills required to manage effectively the interaction of people from different cultures in a variety of work settings. You will see how cultural differences, if not understood, can be barriers to success. The skills learned can be generalised and transferred to a range of international situations.

Week 2 – Winning the Battle

Successful techniques that utilise the original concepts of Sun Tzu’s the ‘Art of War’ to improve the company's situation in business, major negotiations and operational activities. Although developed for the battlefield, these principles have the most versatile and practical use in the competitive world today. You will obtain fresh and positive insights into core business, professional and personal challenges and problems, developing strategies and tactics that will deliver a winning result, and the best outcome for the business and the individual.

Week 3 – The 21st Century Entrepreneur

Develop an appreciation of how 21st century entrepreneurs can build a business with competitive advantage based on an innovative business model that brings greater value to your customers than your competitors can. Topics in the areas of: scanning for opportunity, creativity to develop an innovative product or service of value, strategic and market positioning, vision, mission and strategy, securing strategic assets and finance, and creating the operations and organisation required to take a venture forward with competitive advantage.

On completion of the programme students will be expected to present their venture plans in groups to the Board and the winners receive a cash prize of up to £500.

 

Entry Requirements
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum English level: Upper-Intermediate (B1)

Course Duration
  • 6 full week’s programme which breaks in to 2 three weeks programme.
  • Each one week component can be taken separately 15 hours per week.
